About Allwell
Allwell Uwazuruike is an academic, author, and entrepreneur. He is a senior lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire, United Kingdom. He is also the co-founder and editor of Afritondo, a publishing and multimedia platform for African literature.
Allwell has a degree in law including a professional qualification as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He has a master’s in International Business Law and a PhD in Human Rights. He has written extensively on human rights in Africa and published a monograph, Human Rights under the African Charter. He has also conducted empirical research on human rights issues in Nigeria, Senegal, and France.
Allwell has presented at international conferences in the United Kingdom, Turkey, Canada, and Italy. He has also given guest lectures on human rights across universities in the UK.

One research, When Food Runs Scarce, captures the impact of industrial fishing in the lives of artisanal fishermen in Senegal and the strong links with migration. Another investigates the lived experiences of Senegalese migrants in France. In Nigeria, Allwell carried out research on the freedom of expression amidst heavy government crackdown on free speech.
